Aberdour KY3

Spaces now on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

I have been childminding for over 7 years and have brought the experience of raising my own family with me. I also spent 3 years looking after my sisters triplets regularly for full days and outings. I have two children, Murdo aged 10 and Lachie aged 9. My degree was in Outdoor Education and I have worked within Outdoor Education and Sports development both paid and voluntary for over 25 years. During this time I have worked and coached with a variety of ages of children from pre-school to teenagers. As well as my degree I hold a current First Aid Certificate and have attended Child Protection training. I am a member of the Scottish Childminding Association, an association dedicated to supporting childminders in Scotland. In turn helping me to keep up-to-date on all relevant changes in legislation and policy relating to my business. As a registered childminder I aim to provide a safe, fun and friendly environment where children can learn through play and are allowed to develop at their own individual pace. I very much believe in the benefits of the great outdoors backed up by my degree in Outdoor Education. The outdoor playground offers endless resourses when it comes to creative and exploratory play. There are also clear health benefits to being outdoors in keeping children more active and improving general health and wellbeing. The outdoors provides a learnimg environment that is much less formal than a classroom, which can encourage even shy learners to speak aloud and start joining in.
