Noticeboard & Setting Broadcasts: Professional Messaging

Post once, reach every parent. The Noticeboard is your setting's digital megaphone. Unlike the Daily Diary, which is private for each child, the Noticeboard is designed for professional, setting-wide announcements, photo updates, and admin reminders.

Why use the Noticeboard?

  • Setting-Wide Updates: Perfect for end-of-term wrap-ups, menu changes, or holiday reminders.
  • Engagement: Share "Topic of the Week" photos and learning themes with all parents simultaneously.
  • Read-Only Clarity: Noticeboard posts are read-only for parents, ensuring your critical news doesn't get lost in a comment thread.

Step 1: Crafting Your Message

The Noticeboard uses a "Block System" to build rich, professional-looking posts section by section.

  1. Navigate to the Noticeboard tab and tap New Announcement.
  2. Add Sections: Tap the (+) button to add different types of content:
    • Text Blocks: For your main announcements.
    • Image Blocks: For setting-wide activity photos.
    • Activity Blocks: Link directly to one of your planned Activities to show parents the "Educational Intent" behind the fun.
    • Snapshot Blocks: The "Magic Link" — select a child's milestone observation to include in the post.

Step 2: Selecting Your Audience

You have total control over who receives your broadcast.

  • All Parents: Sends the update to every family linked to your setting.
  • Specific Parents: Choose only relevant families (e.g., announcing a trip for your pre-schoolers only).

Step 3: Privacy & Personalisation

The KinderStart Noticeboard is "Privacy-First." If you add a Snapshot Block for "Child A":

  • Parents of Child A will see their child's specific achievement and photo.
  • Other Parents will see your general text and setting-wide images, but Child A's private snapshot remains hidden from them.

Send one "Friday Wrap-Up" that feels deeply personal to every parent in your setting.

Step 4: Preview & Publish

Check your work before broadcasting.

  1. Tap the Eye icon to enter Preview Mode. This shows exactly how the post looks on a parent's phone.
  2. Drafts: Not ready yet? Tap Save as Draft to come back to it later.
  3. Publish: When you're happy, tap Publish Announcement. Messages reach the parent portal immediately.

Professional Tip: The 'Friday Wrap-Up'

Post to the Noticeboard every Friday afternoon with 3-4 photos of group activities. Parents love the setting-wide context, and it dramatically reduces individual messaging volume over the weekend.
