ℹ️Who this is for

Parents who want to show their childminder something their child did at home. You'll need the parent app (see

). It takes about two minutes.

Video Walkthrough

A Home Adventure is a moment from home that you add to your child's Learning Journey: a first step, a new word, a tower that didn't fall down. You can add a photo or a short video, and you and your childminder can comment on it.

1. Add a Home Adventure

Tap the Menu at the top left of your home screen, choose Learning Journey, then choose your child. Tap the + button at the bottom right.

2. Add a photo or a video

Tap Add Photo or Add video. One photo or one video goes with each post. Videos can be up to 2 minutes long and up to 250 MB, in MP4 format.

3. Say what happened

Give it a title, such as "Emma pulling up to stand", and write a line about what happened. The story helps your childminder see what your child is learning. Tap Post.

The video plays on your child's timeline, and your childminder sees it in their Learning Journey too.

4. Talk about it

When your childminder comments on your Home Adventure, you get a notification. Open the post in the Learning Journey to read the comment, type your reply in Add a comment... and tap send. Your childminder is notified of your reply.

Comments show on the post, oldest first. A comment can be up to 500 characters.

ℹ️Changed your mind?

Tap the bin icon on your own Home Adventure to delete it.

✅Why KinderStart does it this way

Much of a child's learning happens at home. Sharing it where your childminder records their learning means they can build on it, and keeping the conversation on the post means it stays with the moment it's about.
