Set the consents every family is asked for when they register, in your own words.
Childminders setting up KinderStart before their first family registers. It takes about five minutes.
Every family is asked for the same list of consents when they register, such as photos, outings and sun cream. You set that list once, here.
Open the Tools tab, choose Business Settings, then Consents. KinderStart starts you with a standard list.
Each consent has a description. Rewrite any of them so it says exactly what you do. Switch off any consent your setting doesn't use.
Tap Add Custom Consent. Give it a label, like "Library Walks", and a description of what the parent is agreeing to.
Tap Mark as Required for anything a parent must answer. They'll have to choose Granted or Denied before they can finish registering.
Tap Save at the top of the screen. Every new registration uses your list.
Setting the list once means every family is asked the same questions, and nothing is missed. Parents answer in their own app, so the record is kept with the child.
Review your consents each year. If your practice changes, update the wording here.
KinderStart also has a standalone Parent Consent Form that covers keeping records in the app. Find it in Help & Support → Parent Consent Form, where you can share it, download it as a PDF, or send it to a child's parents.
