The 2-Year Progress Check

Between the ages of 2 and 3, you are legally required to provide parents with a short written summary of their child's development in the three Prime Areas.

1. Navigate to Reports: Open the Audit tab and select 2-Year Check.
2. Select a Child: Choose the child from your register. KinderStart pulls in any existing drafts or previous reports.
3. The Evidence Vault: This is your secret weapon. Tap the Draft (Sparkles) button in any Prime Area to open the Evidence Vault.
   • KinderStart filters and shows every Observation you've ever recorded for that specific learning area.

4. The Three Prime Areas: Complete your professional judgment for:
   • Communication & Language
   • Physical Development
   • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
5. Parent Voice: EYFS mandates that you include parent contributions. Use the Summary tab to record their views and any targeted action plans for SEND identification.
6. Generate & Download: Once satisfied, tap Generate Report to create a polished PDF. Download it immediately to share with parents and health visitors.

Gap Analysis: Finding the Missing Pieces

Track progress against EYFS areas — inspectors will ask for this evidence. Ofsted expects to see "broad and balanced" coverage across all seven areas of learning. The Gap Analysis tool shows you exactly where to focus your future observations.

• Radar Chart Insights: View a visual "web" of your EYFS coverage. A dip in the chart indicates an area (like Mathematics or Expressive Arts) where you haven't recorded enough evidence recently.
• Time Range Filtering: Analyse coverage over a specific term, 3 months, or a custom tax year.
• Direct Action: If a gap appears, tap the Log Observation button directly from the analysis screen to start bridging that gap immediately.
