What Is the Two-Year Check?

Legal Requirement: All children aged 24-36 months must have a written summary of their development in:

Who Needs a Two-Year Check?

Identify 2-3 specific goals for the next few months:

Understanding the EYFS Prime Areas

Why "Prime" Areas? These three areas are the foundation for all future learning. Children must be secure in Prime Areas before Specific Areas (Literacy, Math, etc.) can develop fully.

Connection to later EYFS: The Two-Year Check informs:

"What if I disagree with the AI summary?"

"How detailed should my notes be?"

Aim for 200-300 words per Prime Area. Enough detail to be meaningful, but concise enough that parents can read quickly.

"What if child is advanced in all areas?"

Celebrate that! Note their strengths and set ambitious next steps. Consider extending learning to Specific Areas early.
