Record a child's condition, medication and emergency steps, sign it with their parent, and keep it one tap from your dashboard.
Childminders caring for a child with a medical condition: asthma, an allergy, epilepsy, diabetes or anything else that needs a plan. Writing the first one takes about ten minutes. Signing it takes seconds.
An individual healthcare plan records what a child's condition is, what you do about it day to day, and what counts as an emergency. You and the child's parent both sign it, so there is no argument later about what was agreed. Once it is active, it sits one tap from your dashboard, where you need it.
Open the Children tab, choose the child, and on their profile tap Create next to Healthcare plan.
Fill in the Condition / diagnosis, the Triggers that set it off, and the Signs and symptoms you would notice. Write it for someone who has never met the child.
Tap Add medication and enter its Name, Dose and Method. Put the clock times you give it in Scheduled times as 08:00, 12:30, and use Timing for the rest: "and whenever she is wheezy". Medicine given only when needed has no scheduled times at all.
Add as many medicines as the child has.
Two fields matter more than the rest. What is an emergency is the line that tells anyone covering for you that this has stopped being ordinary. Emergency action plan is what they do about it, in order, ending with when to call 999.
These two, and the condition, are the only fields you must fill in before anyone can sign.
Tap Submit and sign and sign with your finger. The plan is then waiting for the parent.
If the parent uses the app, they get a notification and sign on their own phone. If they don't, tap Capture parent signature in person at pick-up, enter their name, and hand them your device. Either way counts.
Once both signatures are on the same version, the plan is active.
A signed plan cannot be edited. Editing it starts a new version that both of you sign again, and the old plan stays in force until you do, so a child is never left without one while a change is being agreed.
Back on your dashboard, the child's face now carries a red medical badge. One tap opens their emergency card, and the plan's emergency steps sit at the top, above everything else. It works offline, and your assistants can open it too.
An inspector asks for a healthcare plan with a review date and the parent's agreement on it. A plan written in a folder gives you none of that. Signing it in the app dates both signatures, keeps every earlier version, and reminds you when the review is due, while the part that matters in a real emergency stays one tap away.
