Tick off your assistant's induction, have them sign it on their own phone, and keep their suitability declaration and references ready for Ofsted.

ℹ️Who this is for

Childminders with an assistant. Co-childminders don't have an induction to sign.

Staff Compliance keeps each assistant's policy sign-offs, 14-point induction, suitability declaration and references in one place, so you can show Ofsted a complete dossier.

1. Open their compliance dossier

Open Team Management, tap the assistant, then tap View Compliance. You'll see Policy Sign-Offs, Induction, Suitability Declaration, References and their certificates.

Policy sign-offs come from your staff policies. To choose which policies your assistants sign, see Staff policies and sign-off.

2. Tick off the induction

Walk your assistant through the induction and tick each of the 14 points. Each tick saves straight away. Your assistant can only sign once all 14 are ticked.

3. Your assistant signs their induction

On their own phone, your assistant taps My Compliance and signs their induction with a finger. You get a notification when they do.

4. Add their suitability declaration and references

Upload their signed suitability declaration and add each written reference, with the letter attached if you have one. Only you can open these; your assistant only sees that they're on file.

5. Check the result

A signed induction shows a locked banner with their signature, and the ticks can't be changed.

⚠️Signing can't be undone

A signed induction is permanent. Tick every induction point before you hand the phone over.
