About this tracker
The Learning Tree turns the 42 Development Matters statements for children in Reception into one painted poster. Each leaf is a statement, grouped on branches by the seven areas of learning.
The Development Matters statements for Reception lead towards the Early Learning Goals that teachers assess at the end of the Reception year in the EYFS Profile. It suits childminders who care for Reception children before and after school or in the holidays, and anyone helping a pre-schooler get ready for the move to school.
Pin it up at child height and colour a leaf when a child shows it most of the time. Children love watching their tree fill up, and it gives you an easy, visual way to talk with parents about progress.
