About this activity pack

This free pack gives you five calm Bonfire Night activities for babies and toddlers in your setting. None of them use sparklers or flames. Each activity page lists what you need, words to use, step-by-step instructions, ways to make it easier or harder, and safety notes.

The activities cover firework-style mark making and painting, talking about what is safe and what is for grown-ups only, exploring loud and quiet sounds, and talking about feelings when the bangs feel scary. They fit your EYFS planning for the under-threes around early November.

Most of what you need is already in your setting or kitchen: chalk, paper, a salad spinner, paint, a saucepan and a teddy. You can use one activity a day across Bonfire Night week, or pick the ones that suit the children you have in.
